Rain Water Harvesting for your Garden

Ever thought of how much you are spending on watering your plants and wash your car? Well the idea of rain water harvesting got me thinking, that I could save some sort of money by storing rain water (which you get for free).

If you can store the rain water and use it for your gardening and may be to wash your car, you are contributing your part in saving the precious water which is pumped to your home from the water reservoir. Specially when your country is facing a water shortage. For sustainable development of a country (as well as globally) we need protect our environmental resources by by not overusing it, and clean water is one most precious resources we have on earth.

A simple system of harvesting rain water is to use the home's gutters to direct the water (from the rain water which falls on the roof) to a water tank.

By collecting the rain water, which otherwise will go into the city's drainage, you are also preventing the city's drainage from getting flooded. Which means our roads won't get that much flooded, well at least in a small way.
