Most Polluting Companies in the World

It isn't surprising that the top most companies who are the worst polluters of the environment are from the USA. Protected by the pro-business policies of the Republican party these companies are allowed to freely pollute the environment.

Former President George W Bush's nullification of the Kyoto Protocol, which was signed by former president Bill Clinton during his term of office, exemplifies the disregard the American businesses has for the protection of the environment.

The reason for this, is their inability to compete with other countries in terms of price, if they are to meet the higher standards set by other countries in environmental protection, namely Japan. The USA has lowest emission standards in the world. Japan on the other hand has the highest standards for emission levels, which is why all Japanese cars are fuel efficient. Most American cars are labeled as gas guzzlers.
According an article on Condé Nast Portfolio website (http://www.portfolio.com/news-markets/national-news/portfolio/2008/02/19/10-Worst-Corporate-Polluters) the Americans have been labeled as the worst polluters in the world. Almost all of these companies have included green policies in their CSR policies. The writer ask, what all these green policies really mean. Even though some companies have rebutted the assertion of being labeled as polluters.
More to come on this subject. :)
