Is Global Warming a Myth

I have been reading on the web, about Global Warming being a myth, and being a conspiracy. I have seen the same on YouTube as well.

I have always been a firm believer that the phenomenon called "Global Warming" is truly happening and that we, human beings, have to take the blame for it. But why deny it and say it as a myth? As a personal opinion, I am not surprised that it is coming from the Americans than anybody else, as they have been tagged as the world's worst polluters of the environment.

The target of the people who are calling it a myth seems to the former US vice president Al Gore, after he made the documentary "An Inconvenient Truth". Maybe its because, America is not affected by it or not facing any danger from Global Warming, like countries like Maldives, a island nation which is facing threat of being wiped off the map, if the Global temperature rises.

I've read an article titled "Taking on Climate Change Myth and Skeptics" on the Allianz Knowledge website, which states correctly that the reason for the people to be skeptic is that, quote "these people primarily do not like the consequences of the scientific findings: that we need to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions." unquote. Its quite simple, how much are you willing to sacrifice in reducing global warming? Its easy for them to convince themselves (and others too) that its all a myth and than to face the truth.

If we weigh the cost taking action against Global Warming and the Consequence of not taking action (when we still have the opportunity to do so) , the latter will weigh higher. Even though this is just my personal opinion (I am not a scientist) I believe there are people who will endorse this (people who really care about the earth we are living in.
